Grandma-M
Today is one of those days when I really miss Grandma-M. She was the utmost of composure and proper no matter what the situation. There is so little of that anymore. I miss it. She went to a good old-fashioned finishing school; and it showed. She had class no matter where she was or what the situation.
Even though she married poor, if you weren't aware of her economic status; you would never guess. There is such a huge difference between true class and the low-rent snobbish behavior one so frequently encounters these days.
Grandma-M wasn't timid or ever taken advantage of. She could hold her own with anyone, but she always maintained her pose and intelligence. She was a kind, caring person that would never do anything to hurt someone's feelings of humiliate them. She would give someone the shirt off her back and defend them to her death. If wronged, she could state her case and put them in their place while allowing them to maintain their dignity.
I surely wish there were still people like that today. I miss her, and I miss what she had.
